Behold: The Bee Beard
This story is truly un-BEE-lievable.
“Bee Bearding” is a popular carnival act in China, and the name of this act is exactly as it suggests: people create beards on their faces using live bees. This odd sport … if you can call it a sport… is even something that people compete for to earn a place in the Guinness World Records!
Before we explain further, we must warn … do not try this at home!
China’s Luang Liangming, an apparent expert in “bee bearding” has achieved a Guinness World Record for his most recent stunt: he managed to wear the heaviest beard made of bees ever recorded.
Incredibly, his beard of bees weighed in at just over 140 pounds!
He achieved this odd feat by using 60 queen bees to attract approximately 637,000 bees to latch on to his face.
This is amusing, but clearly very dangerous! What do you think? Is this one of the weirder Guinness World Records you’ve heard of?
Remember, if you have bees around your home do not try to address the problem on your own. This is a job for the experts!
